AFS Conference
AFS hold one conference per year. Past destinations have included South Africa, Portugal, Hong Kong, Auckland, Vietnam, Egypt and Gold Coast. The next AFS conference will be held in Tallinn, Estonia 2011.
The conference consists of a good mix of work and play. We have a series of platform sessions as well as some workshop sessions. Networking is a vital component of every AFS conference, with time allocated to "get to know" your peers.
Brokerage Administration
AFS boasts one of the best brokerage administration systems in the industry. Our consolidated commission system pays you 100% brokerage on all business. All advisers are paid fortnightly directly into their chosen bank accounts and never has an adviser not been paid on time.
Extensive Research
AFS appointed Lonsec as our research house in May, 2004.
Together we have compiled the AFS recommended list, developing a current version incorporating 250 products and representing all the principal underwriters, providing significant diversity and choice.
The head of Lonsec research sits on the AFS Investment Committee along with our CEO and our Head of Compliance.
This allows considered, prompt decisions, with immediate authorisation for implementation.
The Investment Committee Charter has also been changed and a documented process with associated guidelines introduced for the review, removal or inclusion of products/concepts.
Finally, we allow waivers where Advisers demonstrate real value or individual needs/experience.
Personalised and Practical Compliance
AFS perceives the compliance role to be one of "coach" and the relationship with our practices to be that of a "partnership". This is one of the major points of differentiation between AFS and other dealer groups.
We aim to provide advisers with as much flexibility and support as possible doing this by tailoring compliance to the requirements of each individual practice.
Professional Development Days
AFS hold two Professional Development Days per year. The PD Days are held in all states and follow the same agenda.
The PD Days are designed to provide training for all AFS authorised representatives and their staff. At AFS we constantly strive to deliver a day that will attract maximum CPD points, challenge and provide genuine value to the majority of attendees.
The training is based on a broad range of topics which is provided by our Strategic Business Partners and alliances.
